In a fresh update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), residents of Uttar Pradesh (UP) have been advised to stay alert as heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds is expected to hit several districts over the next three hours. The forecast, issued on July 1, 2025, specifically warns of intense weather activity across central and eastern parts of the state, while northwestern UP may see light to moderate rain.

As the monsoon in Uttar Pradesh gains momentum, this sudden weather change poses risks of waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and lightning-related incidents. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the forecast, affected areas, and safety precautions.

UP Rains Today: IMD’s Urgent Alert for Next 3 Hours

The IMD has flagged a red alert for multiple districts, predicting severe thunderstorms and downpours in localized pockets. The alert mentions a likelihood of wind speeds reaching up to 40–50 km/h, creating a risk for weak structures, trees, and outdoor power lines.
