UP Police Recruitment 2025: Notification Expected Next Week for 24,000 Posts

KKN Gurugram Desk | The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is gearing up to release a massive recruitment notification in the second week of June 2025. The upcoming drive is expected to open 23,763 vacancies across multiple categories, including Constable and Sub-Inspector (SI) roles.

What makes this recruitment special is the one-time age relaxation of three years for candidates applying for the Sub-Inspector (SI) position. Additionally, 3,800 posts will be reserved for women, marking a major step in gender representation in the state police force.

Breakdown of Proposed Vacancies for 2025

According to sources, the recruitment board has submitted a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters for the following posts:

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria for UP Police SI Recruitment 2025

As per the previous recruitment norms, the eligibility criteria for Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment are as follows:

 Educational Qualification:

  • Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

 Age Limit:

  • General Category: 21 to 28 years

  • OBC/SC/ST: As per state government norms (upper age relaxation)

  • Special Relaxation (2025 Only): 3-year relaxation in upper age limit for all categories applying for SI post

 This 3-year age relaxation is a one-time provision and will not apply to future recruitments.

Selection Process for UP Police Recruitment 2025

The selection process will consist of two major stages:

1. Written Examination:

  • Objective-type questions

  • Subjects include General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Law

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST):

  • Only qualifying in nature

  • Required only for candidates who clear the written test

Female Representation in UP Police Recruitment 2025

Out of the proposed 23,763 vacancies, 3,800 posts will be reserved for women candidates, aiming to increase female representation in UP’s police services.

In the last constable recruitment drive, 12,048 women constables were successfully inducted into service, showcasing a positive trend in gender inclusivity.

Salary and Pay Scale for Sub-Inspectors

  • Pay Scale: ₹9,300 – ₹34,800

  • Grade Pay: ₹4,200

  • Initial Gross Salary (Approx.): ₹42,000–₹48,000/month (depending on posting, allowances, and benefits)

Additional perks include:

  • Uniform allowance

  • Housing and medical facilities

  • Risk and hardship allowance for special units

Past Recruitment and Exam Cancellation in 2023

The 2023 Constable recruitment exam was cancelled due to a paper leak scandal. However, the exam was re-conducted and the board successfully filled 60,244 constable vacancies earlier this year.

The newly selected constables are scheduled to begin training in June 2025, marking a successful recovery from the controversy.

 Mock Tests:

  • Practice daily with timed mock exams for better speed and accuracy
