This shocking murder has sparked outrage in the community, with Ravi’s family members staging a protest by placing the body in front of the police station. They are demanding the encounter of the accused and justice for the brutal killing.
The Incident: Dispute Leads to Fatal Shooting
The tragic incident occurred after a heated dispute between Ravi Sharma and the accused, Ajay and Monty, over a car. According to reports, the altercation began earlier in the evening around 10 PM, when Ravi and the accused had an argument over car parking. This confrontation quickly escalated, and the accused, Ajay and Monty, went to Ravi’s house. There, they engaged in a physical altercation with him, which was followed by two gunshots fired by Ajay at Ravi’s house gate.
In response, Ravi immediately contacted the Dial 112 emergency service. He was advised by the police to visit the station and file a complaint. Ravi, accompanied by his brother, headed towards the police station to report the incident, unaware that the accused were already following them.
At the station, while Ravi was speaking to the police, Ajay and Monty reappeared and opened fire on him. The gunmen fired four shots, hitting Ravi, who collapsed to the ground. After carrying out the cold-blooded murder, the assailants fled the scene, leaving Ravi bleeding and helpless.
Medical Help and Protest by Family
Ravi was immediately rushed to Nivok Hospital in Modinagar by his family, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. The news of his tragic death spread quickly, and soon a large crowd had gathered at the hospital. Ravi’s family was understandably distraught, and they began protesting, demanding justice for their loved one.
The situation escalated further when, following the protest at the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rural and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Masuri, along with local police officers, arrived at the scene to manage the situation.
Family Demands Justice and Encounter of the Accused
The family of Ravi Sharma, along with their supporters, took their protest to a more intense level by placing Ravi’s body at the gates of Muradnagar Police Station. They demanded immediate action against the killers, including bulldozing the homes of the accused and carrying out an encounter-style execution similar to what they believed Ravi had faced. One of the women in the group was quoted saying, “Just as our loved one has been killed, the accused should meet the same fate.”
The family’s demand for justice grew louder as more people joined the protest. Former legislator Amar Pal Sharma also arrived at the scene to show solidarity with the family. The intensity of the situation was palpable as the crowd voiced their outrage and called for swift justice.
Police Take Action: Suspensions and Investigation
In response to the growing tension and pressure from the public, the Police Commissioner took immediate action. The Muradnagar Police Station in charge, Shailendra Singh Tomar, along with the night officer, Sub-Inspector Subey Singh, and the beat officer, Sub-Inspector Mohit Singh, were suspended for their alleged negligence in handling the situation.
The police are currently investigating the case, with efforts to apprehend Ajay and Monty, the accused in this gruesome murder. Meanwhile, Ravi’s family has made it clear that they will continue to protest until justice is served and the killers are brought to justice.
Community Reactions and Law & Order Issues
This incident has raised serious concerns regarding law and order in Muradnagar and the broader Ghaziabad district. The fact that the murder occurred just outside the police station has sparked questions about police responsiveness and the safety of the residents. The community, particularly in rural areas like Milk Rawli, is demanding stronger measures to ensure public safety and justice.
Ravi’s tragic death highlights the ongoing issues with criminal activity and the lack of adequate policing in some parts of Uttar Pradesh. While the police have initiated an investigation and promised swift action, the case has also underscored the need for improved crime prevention strategies in the state.
The murder of Ravi Sharma in Muradnagar has shaken the local community and raised alarms about the effectiveness of law enforcement in rural Uttar Pradesh. As Ravi’s family protests for justice, the case has gained significant attention, with calls for stricter measures against violent crime and better police accountability.
The demand for the encounter of the accused, while controversial, reflects the frustration of the people who feel that justice is often delayed or denied in such cases. The authorities have promised a thorough investigation and vowed to bring the culprits to justice, but the tragic loss of life has left an indelible impact on the community. The case continues to unfold, with updates expected in the coming days.
This horrific event serves as a stark reminder of the need for stronger law enforcement, crime prevention, and justice in Uttar Pradesh to ensure the safety and security of all its residents.
