UP CM Yogi Adityanath Reaches Delhi for NITI Aayog Meeting and NDA Chief Ministers’ Conclave

Published on

KKN Gurugram Desk | Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in New Delhi on Friday evening for a crucial two-day visit. During this tour, CM Yogi is scheduled to attend two major policy events:

  • The 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog on Saturday

  • The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers’ Conference on Sunday

Both meetings will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making them high-stakes platforms for outlining development goals and evaluating state-level progress.

Key Focus: $1 Trillion GSDP Target and Development Goals by 2047

The central theme of the NITI Aayog meeting is “Viksit Bharat @2047: Developed State, Developed India”, with a specific focus on how states can contribute to India’s vision for 2047.

CM Yogi is expected to present:

  • Uttar Pradesh’s plan to achieve $1 trillion Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP)

  • Updates on the poverty elimination campaign launched in 2024

  • Economic milestones and future strategies for inclusive development

The state has made significant strides in GSDP growth, contributing to India’s ambition of becoming a $5 trillion economy.

District-Wise Economic Monitoring Initiative

A key component of UP’s growth model is the District One Trillion Dollar (OTD) Cell, recently established by the Yogi government. This unit:

  • Empowers district magistrates to review economic performance quarterly

  • Encourages localized data tracking

  • Aligns district-level output with the larger $1 trillion GSDP target

CM Yogi is expected to showcase this bottom-up governance model as a replicable framework for other states.

Poverty Eradication and Tribute to Ambedkar

Uttar Pradesh’s Zero Poverty Mission, launched on October 2, 2024, will also be highlighted. The mission’s progress was dedicated to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on April 14, 2025, his birth anniversary. CM Yogi will likely underline:

  • Beneficiary outreach

  • Policy interventions in health, housing, and education

  • Role of digital governance in targeting poverty

These initiatives align with the Centre’s broader goal of holistic welfare-driven development.

Kumbh Mela 2025 and Tourism-Led Economic Boost

Another major milestone under CM Yogi’s tenure was the successful organization of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025, which saw a record 66 crore pilgrims in attendance.

The event:

  • Significantly boosted religious tourism

  • Contributed to local economic upliftment

  • Strengthened UP’s image as a safe, culturally vibrant state

This success story is expected to be part of the CM’s address, reinforcing UP’s readiness to host global-scale events.

Law and Order Improvements and Investor Confidence

UP’s improving law-and-order situation is central to its development narrative. CM Yogi is expected to present:

  • State’s success in maintaining communal harmony and reducing crime

  • Investment-friendly initiatives such as the UP Global Investors Summit

  • Launch of secure city projects and urban metro expansion

These efforts have created a business-conducive environment, reflected in recent private and FDI inflows.

 Urban Development and Infrastructure Projects

Several infrastructure projects under CM Yogi’s leadership have transformed urban spaces:

  • Metro rail projects in Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, and Varanasi

  • Safe City Project aimed at urban surveillance and women’s safety

  • Smart city missions and PM Awas Yojana (Urban) integration

These developments represent UP’s rapid urban transformation, which will be discussed during the NITI Aayog session.

UP’s Improving National Rankings Across Sectors

CM Yogi is also expected to cite UP’s improving performance in national indexes:

  • Ease of Doing Business

  • Swachh Bharat Rankings

  • Education and Health Indexes

With targeted policies and digital integration, UP has demonstrated inclusive growth across demographics and districts.

NDA Chief Ministers’ Meet: Strategy and Organization

On Sunday, CM Yogi will participate in the NDA Chief Ministers’ Conference, where PM Modi will engage with allied CMs on:

  • Upcoming electoral strategy

  • Governance benchmarking

  • Inter-state collaboration

Yogi Adityanath, being one of BJP’s most influential CMs, is expected to play a key role in organizational strategy discussions.

Likely Meetings on Cabinet Expansion and DGP Appointment

Sources indicate that CM Yogi may also hold internal meetings with BJP’s central leadership on key state matters:

  • Cabinet reshuffle in UP, which has been pending

  • Appointment of a new Director General of Police (DGP)

  • BJP’s organizational updates in Uttar Pradesh

These discussions are significant ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and the 2026 UP Assembly polls.

Why This Visit Is Crucial for Uttar Pradesh

This two-day visit holds strategic importance as it addresses:

  • Economic planning with central support

  • Strengthening UP’s national profile

  • Political preparation within the BJP and NDA framework

  • Showcasing UP as a model state in economic, infrastructural, and administrative terms
