The Delhi University (DU) will release its first seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) 2025 today. The list will be made available at 5:00 PM on July 19, 2025. After the release, candidates who have been allotted seats must confirm their acceptance by 4:59 PM on July 21, 2025.
Candidates who are allotted seats in the first list will need to “accept” their allocated offer by the specified time on July 21, 2025. The subsequent steps for candidates involve verification and approval of applications by the respective colleges. This process is set to be completed by July 22, 2025.
Additionally, candidates will be required to pay their fees by July 23, 2025, to confirm their seat.
The release of the first seat allocation list comes after the completion of Phase I and Phase II of the DU admission process. Phase I involved the registration of candidates, which began on July 8, 2025. Following this, candidates were required to log in to the official DU admission portal at ugadmission.uod.ac.in to fill in their program and college preferences.
To help students make informed decisions, Delhi University released simulated ranks on July 15, 2025. A two-day window for preference changes was also provided, ending at 11:59 PM on July 16, 2025.
After the release of the first seat allocation list on July 19, candidates will have a limited time window to “accept” the seat offer. Once candidates accept the seat, the colleges will verify and approve their applications by July 22, 2025. Following that, the final date to pay the required fees is set for July 23, 2025.
Vacant seats from the first round will be displayed on July 24, 2025. Candidates will then have the opportunity to reorder their preferences until July 25, 2025. This gives students another chance to adjust their preferences before the release of the second seat allocation list.
The second seat allocation list is scheduled to be published at 5:00 PM on July 28, 2025.
Delhi University has introduced several important changes for the 2025 academic year. One of the most significant additions is the introduction of an auto-accept feature. This feature is designed to prevent students from losing their seats due to delayed responses, ensuring a smoother and more efficient allocation process.
Another important change is the adoption of CUET-UG 2025 scores as the basis for admissions. Candidates will now be selected based on the best CUET-UG score calculated from either:
One language + three subjects, or
Two languages + two subjects
Additionally, a significant change has been made for BSc (Hons) admissions. The minimum 30% score requirement in the CUET language paper for these courses has been removed, making it easier for students to qualify.
Here are some of the key statistics related to DU Admissions 2025:
Total number of seats: 71,624
Programs offered: 79
Participating colleges: 69
Academic session start date: August 1, 2025
CUET-UG 2025 applicants: 13.5 lakh (a record high)
The most popular subjects among CUET applicants include:
English: 8.14 lakh applicants
General Test: 6.59 lakh applicants
Chemistry: 5.70 lakh applicants
As the DU admission process moves forward, candidates are advised to stay updated with the latest developments by regularly checking the official DU admission portal. Real-time updates will be available, and it is essential for students to adhere to all deadlines and processes to ensure a smooth admission experience.
The release of the first seat allocation list for DU admissions 2025 marks an important milestone in the university’s admissions process. With a large number of applicants, the seat allocation system ensures that the process is carried out efficiently. Candidates must carefully follow the deadlines and make informed decisions to secure their place in one of the prestigious colleges under Delhi University.
