KKN Gurugram Desk | Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked the successful completion of her government’s first 100 days with a spiritual visit to Haridwar on Sunday. The symbolic gesture included a sacred dip in the holy Ganges at Har Ki Pauri, followed by a vow to ensure the welfare and development of both Delhi and the nation.

Ganga Snan and Spiritual Offering at Har Ki Pauri

CM Rekha Gupta, accompanied by her family and key members of her team, arrived at Haridwar early Sunday morning. Her first stop was the revered Brahma Kund at Har Ki Pauri, where she took a ceremonial bath and offered prayers for the prosperity of Delhi and the country. The rituals were conducted by the Tirth Purohits (pilgrim priests) under the aegis of the Ganga Sabha.

Speaking to the media after the Ganga snan, CM Rekha Gupta expressed her deep spiritual connection with the sacred river, stating:

“I have come to this divine land of Uttarakhand after completing 100 days of service as Delhi’s Chief Minister. The Ganges is a symbol of purity and renewal. I prayed for the continuous progress of Delhi and the wellbeing of all citizens.”

Vatsalya Ganga Ashray Inauguration and Interaction with Saints

After her spiritual rituals, CM Gupta attended the inauguration of the “Vatsalya Ganga Ashray” in Kanakhal, Haridwar. The ashram, initiated by renowned spiritual leader Sadhvi Rithambara, aims to offer a nurturing environment for children and women in need. The event was graced by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, showcasing strong inter-state cooperation and unity.

In her address at the event, CM Gupta applauded the philanthropic work of Sadhvi Rithambara and underlined the importance of integrating social responsibility with spiritual values.

“Such institutions are a guiding light for society. They reflect the essence of compassion and our cultural commitment to caring for the underprivileged,” she stated.

Blessings from Swami Avdheshanand at Harihar Ashram

Later in the day, CM Rekha Gupta visited the renowned Harihar Ashram where she sought the blessings of Swami Avdheshanand Giri, a prominent Hindu spiritual leader. Her interaction with the spiritual guru focused on matters of environmental responsibility, the importance of inner strength in leadership, and the government’s future roadmap for public welfare.

Sources close to the CM confirmed that the meeting was also spiritual in nature, where Gupta received insights and encouragement for her future governance journey.

Focus on Yamuna Cleanup and Delhi’s Development Vision

During her media interaction in Haridwar, CM Gupta also spoke at length about her vision for Delhi. Drawing parallels between the Ganga’s sanctity and Delhi’s Yamuna River, she vowed to transform the polluted Yamuna into a clean and vibrant river.

“We wish to bring the same sanctity and purity to Yamuna as we see in Ganga. That is our commitment to the people of Delhi and to Mother Nature.”

She emphasized that the first 100 days of her government were an indication of her team’s resolve and systematic planning. From urban reforms to education and public health, Gupta highlighted key achievements and promised a people-centric, transparent governance model.

100-Day Highlights of Delhi Government under Rekha Gupta

Here are some key achievements CM Gupta highlighted on completing 100 days in office:

  • Water and Sanitation Initiatives: Upgradation of sewage lines and new wastewater treatment plants to aid Yamuna rejuvenation.

  • Women’s Safety Programs: New helplines, increased CCTV coverage, and the deployment of women marshals across public transport.

  • Education Push: Launch of ‘Smart Schools for All’ initiative aimed at digitizing classrooms and integrating AI-based learning.

  • Employment Boost: Launch of urban employment schemes targeting the city’s youth.

  • Green Delhi Campaign: Massive plantation drives and introduction of solar-powered streetlights.

Political and Cultural Symbolism of the Visit

Political analysts have termed the CM’s Haridwar visit as a smart blend of cultural identity and governance accountability. With the Ganga’s sanctity symbolizing purity and spiritual strength, the CM’s move to mark her 100-day milestone here is seen as a commitment to moral and ethical governance.

It also sends a message to the public that the government acknowledges not just administrative achievements, but the need for divine grace and ethical grounding in public service.

Upcoming Plans and the Road Ahead

CM Rekha Gupta’s future roadmap includes:

  • Doubling Women’s Health Budget

  • Establishing Clean Energy Hubs in Delhi

  • Introducing Mental Wellness Centers in Government Schools

  • Implementation of Real-Time Air Quality Monitoring Stations across the capital

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s visit to Haridwar served as a symbolic and spiritual affirmation of her government’s commitment to transparent, inclusive, and value-driven governance. As her administration moves beyond its first 100 days, citizens can expect a mix of cultural rootedness, administrative reforms, and a future-ready vision.
