On Friday morning, a bomb threat was issued to not just one, but 20 schools in Delhi, including a prominent institution located in the Paschim Vihar area. Richmond Global School, located in the western part of Delhi, received the threat through an email at 4:55 AM. Authorities responded promptly, with local police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and fire department personnel immediately arriving at the school. The entire premises are being thoroughly searched, but as of now, no suspicious items have been found. Only after the completion of the search will students be allowed entry into the school.

Threat to Multiple Educational Institutions in Delhi

This bomb threat is part of an alarming trend in Delhi, where schools and colleges have been receiving similar threats over the past few days. In fact, this is the third consecutive day that educational institutions in the national capital have received bomb threats via email. As reported by officials, at least 20 schools in Delhi have received bomb threats in the past few days. One of the prominent institutions, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, received a bomb threat on the morning of July 18, 2025.

Upon receiving the threat, Delhi Police along with fire department teams rushed to the location and began investigating. Authorities, including bomb disposal units and police dogs, are meticulously scanning the premises. Though the area has been thoroughly searched, no suspicious objects have been found as of now.

Previous Threats to Other Schools

In the last three days, several other schools in Delhi, including a college, have received similar bomb threats. On Wednesday morning, five private schools in Delhi received bomb threats via email, sparking panic. The police immediately evacuated the campuses and conducted thorough checks, but no explosive materials were found. These threats were later deemed false by the authorities.

On the morning of July 18, similar threats were sent to a number of other schools. Among the schools targeted were St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mother’s International School in Hauz Khas, and Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar. The fire department received alerts about these threats between 5:26 AM and 8:12 AM. Authorities responded quickly by conducting detailed inspections of the campuses, although no explosives were found.

Police Response and Actions Taken

Delhi police have been actively involved in addressing these bomb threats. They have taken swift action each time, ensuring the safety of students and staff. After receiving the bomb threats, schools were immediately evacuated for safety reasons, and bomb disposal units began their investigations. In some cases, schools were temporarily closed to avoid any potential danger.

A senior police officer reported that Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, located in Lodhi Estate, also received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday. A thorough inspection was conducted at the school, but no suspicious materials were discovered by the evening. The school officials, following police instructions, sent an email to parents stating that the school would remain closed for the day due to the bomb threat and the ongoing investigations.

The situation worsened when St. Thomas School in Dwarka received another bomb threat within 24 hours of the previous one. As a result, the school was evacuated once again, and bomb disposal teams were deployed. In total, over 10 bomb threats were reported in the past three days across various schools and colleges in Delhi.

Ongoing Threats in the National Capital

In the last few days, at least 10 schools and one college in Delhi have received bomb threats via email. These threats have created significant panic and disruption. The authorities have continuously assured that these are false threats, but the inconvenience caused by these incidents has been widespread. Each time a threat is received, the authorities take immediate action, including evacuating students, inspecting the premises, and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.

The police have been in close coordination with school authorities, providing guidance on safety measures and necessary protocols. In one instance, after a bomb threat was received at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, the school authorities closed the institution for the day as a precautionary measure. They also informed parents via email about the threat and the temporary closure of the school.

Efforts to Prevent Future Threats

In response to the rising number of bomb threats, the Delhi police are considering additional security measures for schools and other educational institutions. Authorities are investigating the source of the email threats and are working to track down those responsible for causing these disturbances. These incidents have raised concerns about the safety and security of students, prompting both school officials and parents to demand stricter measures to ensure a safe learning environment.

School authorities are also being advised to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately. Security personnel are being deployed at schools to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of all students and staff. In some cases, educational institutions are taking preventive measures, including conducting mock drills and preparing evacuation plans to handle any future threats more efficiently.

Public and Parental Response

The repeated bomb threats have caused significant anxiety among parents and students in Delhi. Many parents have expressed their concerns regarding the safety of their children, particularly in light of the recent threats. Some parents are calling for enhanced security measures, while others are questioning the frequency of these threats and the lack of substantial action against those responsible.

Parents have also raised concerns about the emotional and psychological impact these incidents are having on students. The fear and uncertainty surrounding these threats are creating a tense environment in schools, affecting students’ ability to focus on their studies and participate in daily activities. While schools have taken steps to ensure the safety of students, there is a growing demand for more proactive measures to address these threats before they escalate further.

Authorities Working to Ensure Safety

Delhi police and other authorities are working round the clock to address the growing concern over bomb threats in educational institutions. Investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators behind these threats, and law enforcement agencies are collaborating with cybersecurity experts to trace the origin of the emails.

The police have assured the public that they are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of students and staff in schools. They have urged schools to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Additionally, the authorities are considering increasing security measures at educational institutions, including the installation of more surveillance cameras, increased police presence, and more rigorous security checks.

The recent bomb threats to schools in Delhi have highlighted the growing concern over the safety of educational institutions. Although no explosives have been found in any of the incidents so far, the frequency of these threats has caused considerable panic. Authorities are working tirelessly to investigate the source of these threats and prevent further disruptions. However, the rising number of incidents has raised concerns among parents, students, and school officials, prompting a call for stricter security measures and more proactive action to ensure the safety of all individuals involved. As investigations continue, it is clear that more needs to be done to address this issue and restore confidence in the safety of Delhi’s schools.
