KKN Gurugram Desk | As the NEET UG 2025 results continue to shape the future of aspiring medical students, candidates scoring around 350 marks are now left to wonder about their chances of securing an MBBS seat. While it may be difficult for general category students with such scores to get admission into government medical colleges, there are still prospects for them to pursue medical studies through management quotas in private institutions.

NEET UG 2025: Admission Chances for Candidates Scoring Around 350 Marks

Candidates who score approximately 350 marks in NEET UG 2025 generally fall within the All India Rank (AIR) range of 2,90,000 to 3,70,000. According to experts, these students have slim chances of securing a seat in government medical colleges under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ), as the cut-off for general and OBC categories typically exceeds this mark.

However, the scenario is slightly more favorable for these students in state quota counseling. Students with 350 marks can still have a chance of securing an MBBS seat in government medical colleges through the 85% state quota, although competition will be intense. These candidates can also explore alternative medical courses such as BDS, BAMS, and various AYUSH courses in addition to MBBS, especially through management quota seats in private and deemed universities.

Private Medical College Admission and Management Quota

For candidates scoring around 350 marks in NEET UG 2025, private medical colleges offer an opportunity to secure admission under the management quota. While government medical colleges remain out of reach for students in this score range, several private medical colleges and deemed universities offer seats in MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH programs for those with marks in the 350 range.

Here’s a breakdown of some of the private medical colleges where candidates scoring near 350 marks in NEET UG 2025 might find a chance to get admission:

  • Raja Rajeshwari Medical College & Hospital, Bengaluru (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 374,370

  • Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Center, Tumkur (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 365,036

  • Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 352,756

  • Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Kolhapur (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 345,660

  • Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Mullana (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 343,403

  • Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 334,961

  • Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Chennai (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 313,535

  • Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 299,733

  • Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 293,210

  • Amrita School of Medicine, Faridabad (MBBS, Deemed University) – Closing Rank: 286,837

These private medical institutions and deemed universities often provide an opportunity for students scoring around 350 marks to secure admission, though they must be ready to pay the management quota fees, which can be significantly higher than government college fees.

Alternative Medical Courses and Career Options

For those who may not find MBBS admission feasible, NEET UG 2025 aspirants have other career options in the healthcare sector. Several courses, including BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery), B.Sc. Nursing, and BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science), are excellent alternatives for students with a NEET score of around 350.

The demand for trained professionals in healthcare, especially in hospitals and clinics, has been steadily increasing. Therefore, pursuing these alternative medical courses can also offer good career prospects in both public and private healthcare sectors. Admission to these courses is also done through NEET UG scores, and students can secure seats in reputed institutions with a score of 350 marks.

NEET UG 2025: The Current Landscape of Medical Seats

Out of the 22.09 lakh candidates who appeared for NEET UG 2025, around 12.36 lakh have qualified the exam. However, the total number of MBBS seats in India, including both government and private medical colleges, stands at just 1,18,190 seats across 780 medical colleges (both public and private). These numbers reveal a significant gap between the number of medical aspirants and available seats, making it even more challenging for candidates with lower scores to secure admission.

As per the latest figures from the National Medical Commission (NMC), the number of medical seats is limited, and students will have to compete for seats in various categories during the counseling process. While government seats remain highly competitive, private colleges offer a more viable option, albeit at a higher cost.

NEET UG 2025 Counseling Process

The counseling process for NEET UG 2025 is expected to commence soon. Students can participate in both central and state-level counseling sessions to secure their medical college admissions. The central counseling process will include seats under the All India Quota (15%), while state counseling will handle the remaining 85% of seats.

States like Tamil Nadu have already started their counseling process, and other states are expected to follow suit soon. It is important for candidates to keep an eye on official notifications regarding counseling dates, seat allotment, and other essential procedures.

While securing an MBBS seat in a government medical college may not be feasible for candidates scoring around 350 marks in NEET UG 2025, there are still viable options available. These candidates can explore private medical colleges under the management quota, where they can pursue MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. Additionally, opting for alternative medical courses such as BDS, BAMS, BUMS, and B.Sc. Nursing can offer fulfilling careers in the healthcare industry.

With limited seats available across medical colleges in India, the NEET UG 2025 aspirants must be strategic in exploring their options and be ready to take part in the counseling process to secure the best possible opportunity in their medical career.
