Iran-Israel Conflict Escalates: Missile Strikes, Military Alerts, and Global Diplomacy in Motion

Published by

KKN Gurugram Desk | The Middle East is once again at the center of global tension as the Iran-Israel conflict deepens, sparking fears of a broader regional war. Amid rising hostilities, the United States is weighing military involvement, while countries across the world are evacuating citizens and urging diplomatic intervention.

Tensions Peak: Trump Considering Joint Strike on Iran

According to multiple intelligence sources, U.S. President Donald Trump is seriously considering a joint military strike on Iran in coordination with Israeli forces. Though no final decision has been made, reports suggest Trump is under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take decisive action. However, Trump remains cautious about entering another long-term military conflict in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, U.S. military preparedness has intensified. Strategic military assets—including aircraft and naval warships—are being repositioned across the Indo-Pacific and Middle Eastern regions. One U.S. aircraft carrier is reportedly en route to the Gulf. There are also discussions around deploying 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs to target Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.

Iran Fires Ballistic Missiles at Israel

On June 19, Iran launched a wave of ballistic missile attacks on Israeli territory. Air raid sirens were triggered across Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, southern, and central Israel. Residents were ordered into bomb shelters as multiple explosions were reported, particularly in southern regions.

While there were no immediate casualties, medical teams were deployed across central and southern Israel. Experts claim this attack was larger and more intense than any previous Iranian strike.

Israel Conducts Air Strikes in Tehran and Beyond

In response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched aerial strikes across multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran. According to official statements, these attacks are part of a “series of ongoing strikes” aimed at dismantling Iranian military infrastructure.

The IDF also issued an evacuation warning for residents of Arak and Khondab, cities that host critical Iranian nuclear research sites. This marks a rare and serious escalation, as Khondab houses a heavy-water nuclear reactor, considered a key part of Iran’s nuclear program.

Drone Strike Kills Hezbollah Commander in Lebanon

Separately, Israeli forces confirmed a drone strike in southern Lebanon, which killed Yasin Izz al-Din, a senior commander of Hezbollah’s rocket artillery unit. The operation occurred in the town of Barish and targeted individuals allegedly responsible for repeated rocket attacks on northern Israel.

The IDF labeled this strike as a violation of existing Israel-Lebanon agreements, further complicating the already volatile northern border.

🇨🇳 China Evacuates Citizens from Israel

As the conflict intensifies, China has begun evacuating its citizens from Israel. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a formal notice advising all nationals to leave the country immediately due to growing security threats.

Simultaneously, residents of Tehran are fleeing the city, fearing further escalation and aerial bombings. Roads leading out of the Iranian capital are reported to be heavily congested.

Europe and Russia Seek Diplomatic Mediation

In a move to de-escalate the crisis, top diplomats from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the European Union are scheduled to meet with Iranian representatives in Switzerland this Friday to restart nuclear deal negotiations.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered to mediate, but was reportedly told by Trump to focus on the ongoing Ukraine conflict instead.

Sejjil Missiles Used for the First Time

In a major military development, Iran has reportedly used its Sejjil ballistic missiles—with a range of up to 2,000 km—against Israel for the first time. The strike, confirmed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, marks a turning point in the conflict.

These missiles are capable of targeting deep inside enemy territory and are considered strategic assets in Iran’s missile arsenal. Analysts believe this move could have long-term implications for regional stability.

Calls for U.S. Military Action Grow

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s former defense minister, called on the United States to officially join the conflict. In a statement, he said that U.S. involvement could “help secure a better future for the world” and described President Trump as a “bold leader” who must act decisively.

There is increasing political pressure within Washington, although opposition remains strong regarding another prolonged military commitment overseas.

Operation Sindhu: 100 Indian Students Evacuated from Iran

Amid the rising conflict, India has launched Operation Sindhu, a mission to evacuate its citizens—mainly students—from Iran. On Thursday morning, 100 Indian students arrived safely in Delhi after being transported by road to Armenia and then flown back on a special charter.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that its embassy in Tehran remains active and is coordinating closely with citizens via a 24×7 emergency helpline. Iran hosts a large number of Indian students, especially in the field of medical education.

 Israel Hacks Iranian State TV

In a cyber twist, Israel reportedly hacked Iranian state television, broadcasting archived footage of the 2022 anti-hijab protests led by Iranian women. Iranian officials described this act as a “Zionist cyber offensive.” The clip was later shared by Israel’s representative to the United Nations.

This cyberattack is part of a broader trend of digital warfare that has accompanied physical conflict in the region.

 Casualties Mount Amidst Escalation

According to the Washington-based Human Rights Activists organization, at least 639 people have been killed and 1,329 injured in Israeli strikes on Iran so far. This includes 263 civilians and 154 security personnel.

The data, cross-verified by local Iranian sources, raises concerns about the disparity in casualty figures. Iran’s government had last officially reported only 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries—a number seen as underreported by independent observers.

The Iran-Israel conflict has reached a critical threshold, with both sides engaging in direct military strikes, missile exchanges, cyberattacks, and propaganda. While global powers call for diplomacy, the reality on the ground suggests a conflict spiraling dangerously out of control.
