KKN Gurugram Desk | Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, has agreed to attend the all-party meeting convened by Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The attack, which has deeply shocked the nation, has raised concerns regarding security measures in the region and the government’s response to such incidents.

Owaisi received a phone call from Amit Shah, who personally invited him to join the meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the Parliament. Owaisi confirmed that he would be traveling to Delhi as soon as possible to participate in the meeting, where discussions on the Pahalgam attack will be held with several political leaders.

Owaisi’s Statement Regarding the All-Party Meeting

In a press conference held on Thursday, Asaduddin Owaisi revealed the details of the phone call he received from Amit Shah. Owaisi mentioned that the Home Minister had asked him about his whereabouts and invited him to attend the crucial all-party meeting in Delhi.

Owaisi, emphasizing the national importance of the issue, said, “This is a matter of national significance, and it is necessary for all political parties to come together and discuss the situation.” He also reiterated his earlier stance on the inclusion of smaller political parties in such discussions. Owaisi had previously voiced his concern over the exclusion of parties with fewer than 5 or 10 MPs, stressing the need for a more inclusive approach in addressing issues of national security.

The Home Minister’s decision to invite Owaisi and other key political leaders is seen as an effort to bring together diverse political views on the critical issue of security in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in light of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The Importance of the All-Party Meeting

The all-party meeting, scheduled to take place in the Indian Parliament, is expected to address the security lapses that allowed terrorists to carry out the attack in Pahalgam. According to reports, several political parties will participate in the meeting, where leaders will discuss solutions to prevent similar attacks in the future.

In response to the call from Home Minister Amit Shah, Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized that the meeting would focus on finding ways to ensure the safety of both local residents and tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. The AIMIM leader also reiterated his call for better security infrastructure, including the presence of police forces in tourist-heavy areas like Pahalgam, which were notably lacking during the attack.

Owaisi’s Concerns Over Smaller Parties’ Representation

During a conversation with Kiren Rijiju, India’s Law Minister, Owaisi expressed his concerns regarding the exclusion of smaller parties from such vital discussions. According to Owaisi, Rijiju had suggested that the all-party meeting would only invite parties with 5 or 10 or more MPs. Owaisi questioned why parties with fewer representatives, such as AIMIM, were not being invited, to which Rijiju humorously replied that including smaller parties could make the meeting too long.

In response to Rijiju’s remark, Owaisi made a pointed statement on social media, writing: “What about parties like ours? We also represent the people, and our voices matter.” He emphasized that even smaller parties should be included in these important discussions, as they too play a crucial role in shaping national security policies and opinions.

Owaisi’s Statement on the Pahalgam Terrorist Attack

Asaduddin Owaisi has been vocal in condemning the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which left several civilians dead and injured. In his public comments, Owaisi stated that the attack was a despicable act of violence, one that should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

Owaisi expressed his deep concern over the apparent lack of security in Pahalgam, particularly given the large number of tourists visiting the area. He stated, “The terrorists carried out their attack in broad daylight, and there was no police presence in such a high-traffic area. How did these terrorists manage to cross the border and reach Pahalgam? Who is responsible for this security lapse?”

Owaisi’s statement raises critical questions about the efficiency of border security and the ability of terrorist groups to infiltrate sensitive areas in Jammu and Kashmir. The AIMIM leader has called for a detailed investigation into how the terrorists were able to reach Pahalgam and stressed the importance of accountability in securing the region.

Owaisi’s Call for Accountability and Justice

In the wake of the terrorist attack, Asaduddin Owaisi has made it clear that the perpetrators of such heinous crimes must face justice. He stated, “We expect Allah to punish those responsible for this attack, and we demand that the government bring the criminals to justice.”

Owaisi also pointed out the inadequacies in the region’s security apparatus, highlighting the lack of law enforcement presence in key areas. He raised the alarming concern that if terrorists could reach Pahalgam, it was not unimaginable for them to travel further to cities like Srinagar, which are more densely populated and vulnerable to larger attacks.

He called for a clear strategy to prevent such attacks in the future, including enhanced surveillance, better border control, and increased police presence in high-risk areas. Owaisi further emphasized that the government must ensure that the victims’ families receive justice and that measures are taken to prevent further loss of life.

Political Reactions and Implications of the Meeting

The all-party meeting convened by Amit Shah has the potential to shape the future of national security policies, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. Asaduddin Owaisi’s involvement in the discussions highlights the growing demand for a more inclusive approach to tackling terrorism and improving security measures.

While larger political parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress Party will undoubtedly dominate the discourse, the inclusion of smaller parties like AIMIM in the conversation ensures that a wider array of perspectives will be considered. This move could pave the way for a more comprehensive national security strategy that takes into account the concerns of all sections of Indian society.

The Pahalgam terrorist attack has once again brought to the forefront the need for strong, unified action in securing India’s borders and sensitive areas. The involvement of key political leaders, including Asaduddin Owaisi, in the upcoming all-party meeting is crucial in developing a holistic response to such threats.

As the meeting progresses, it is expected that both national and regional political parties will put forward their ideas to strengthen India’s security apparatus. The outcome of these discussions will likely have far-reaching implications for the future of national security and the government’s ability to safeguard citizens from such attacks.
