KKN Gurugram Desk | In a significant welfare move, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that starting October 2025 (Diwali), eligible women will receive ₹1500 every month under the Ladli Behna Yojana. Additionally, an extra ₹250 will be transferred during the upcoming Sawan month, as a Raksha Bandhan gift.
During a speech in Khargone, CM Yadav shared that each Ladli Behna beneficiary will get an additional ₹250 in Sawan (July-August) along with the regular ₹1250 installment. This special transfer symbolizes financial empowerment for women during the festive season.
From Diwali 2025, the monthly assistance will officially rise from ₹1250 to ₹1500. The Chief Minister emphasized that this isn’t just a promise, but a commitment to enhance women’s economic independence and improve their role in household decision-making.
Looking ahead, CM Yadav reiterated his goal of raising the monthly amount to ₹3000 per woman by 2028. He called it a “policy-backed mission” and assured citizens that this increase is part of a long-term financial support strategy for women in the state.
Hitting back at the Congress Party’s remarks, Yadav defended the scheme’s transparency and efficiency. He criticized the opposition for politicizing welfare and reminded them of their own failures in women’s safety and empowerment during previous tenures.
Yadav stated that the BJP’s election manifesto (Sankalp Patra) is being implemented like a Vachan Patra (sacred promise). He reaffirmed that every commitment made will be honored, including the ₹3000 monthly assistance goal.
Launched in 2023, the Ladli Behna Yojana supports women aged 21 to 60, especially from low-income families. It aims to offer direct benefit transfers (DBT) to promote financial independence.
Current Scheme Highlights:
Existing Monthly Aid: ₹1250
Sawan Bonus: ₹250
New Amount (From Diwali): ₹1500/month
Target by 2028: ₹3000/month
The hike to ₹1500 and future goal of ₹3000 is expected to have a significant electoral and social impact, especially with women voters. These cash transfers improve access to healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship, especially in rural areas.
While the opposition calls it an election gimmick, public sentiment appears positive. Women leaders and SHG members have praised the initiative. On social media, hashtags like #LadliBehnaYojana and #MohanYadavForWomen continue to trend across Madhya Pradesh.
With Raksha Bandhan and Diwali approaching, these welfare declarations set a pro-women tone for CM Yadav’s administration. The ₹1500 monthly assistance is not just symbolic—it reflects a shift toward more inclusive and accountable governance in Madhya Pradesh.
