The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has released the provisional merit list for MBBS and BDS admissions under the NEET UG 2025 Punjab state quota. This merit list includes candidates who registered for the first round of Punjab NEET UG counselling. NEET UG 2025 State Topper from Punjab
In the Punjab state merit list, the top rank is secured by Navin Mittal from Patiala, who scored 655 marks in NEET UG 2025. He also secured the 49th All India Rank (AIR), making him the third-highest scorer from Punjab. Following him, Amit Berry has been placed second in the state merit list with 650 marks and AIR 77. This special category provides seat reservation for Sikh students in minority-run institutions, giving them a competitive edge in the admission process.
NRI Quota Merit List Highlights
In the NRI quota category, the merit list is also finalized. The highest scorer in this category secured 426 marks with an All India Rank of 1,61,627. This list comprises students applying for seats specifically reserved for Non-Resident Indians in Punjab’s private medical and dental colleges. These candidates are often evaluated separately and offered admission based on NEET scores, albeit under a different fee structure and category norms.
Admission Process and Counselling Details
BFUHS invited online applications for NEET UG 2025 counselling between 15 July and 24 July. The admissions are applicable to all undergraduate courses in medical and dental colleges, including private universities and minority institutions. The counselling is being held exclusively online and organized centrally by BFUHS. For the Punjab state quota, 85 percent of the total seats in medical and dental colleges are to be filled through this state counselling process.
Only those candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2025 are eligible for participation. After reviewing and resolving objections, the final revised merit list is expected to be released on 29 July 2025.

The choice filling process for the first round of online counselling began on 29 July 2025 and will continue until 1 August 2025. The seat allotment process is scheduled from 2 August to 3 August 2025. The result of seat allotment will be declared by 6 August 2025. Candidates allotted seats will have to report for admission from 4 August to 8 August 2025. Revised MCC NEET UG 2025 Counselling Schedule Announced
Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has updated the counselling schedule for NEET UG 2025 at the national level. As per the revised timeline, students can register for Round 1 counselling on the official website mcc.nic.in until 12 PM on 31 July 2025.
Candidates must complete their fee payment by 3 PM on the same day. For those needing to reset their registration, the option is available until 10 AM on 31 July. Choice filling for Round 1 remains open until 11:55 PM on 31 July, and candidates must lock their choices between 4 PM and 11:55 PM. The seat allotment for Round 1 will be processed on 1 and 2 August 2025. Results are expected by 3 or 4 August 2025, and reporting for admissions is allowed from 4 August to 8 August 2025.
