KKN Gurugram Desk | The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has officially opened the registration portal for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2025 at midnight, starting the application process for candidates seeking government jobs in Haryana. The registration portal went live at 11:59 PM on May 28, 2025, and within just two hours, over 8,976 candidates showed great enthusiasm, not only visiting the portal but also completing their registrations. This year’s CET introduces several key changes and offers candidates a three-year validity for their scores. Additionally, Haryana Police, Jail Department, and Home Guard recruitment will also be conducted under the CET framework.

Key Updates and Changes for CET 2025

  1. CET Scores Valid for 3 Years: For the first time, the CET scores will remain valid for three years, providing candidates more time to utilize their results for various recruitment opportunities.

  2. Increased Number of Shortlisted Candidates: In a significant change, candidates who are shortlisted for the screening test will now be called in a ratio of 10 candidates for every vacancy, as opposed to the previous four. This increases the chances of selection for the candidates.

  3. No Social-Economic Bonus Points: Candidates will no longer receive 5 additional points based on their social-economic status, which was previously provided as a bonus during the selection process.

  4. Eligibility for Various Departments: The CET 2025 will include recruitments for Haryana Police, Jail Department, and Home Guard under this common eligibility test. This brings a greater range of opportunities for candidates in various sectors.

  5. Registration Requirements for Previous Applicants: Candidates who had appeared for or registered for the CET 2022, conducted on November 5 and 6, 2022, will use the same registration number for CET 2025. New applicants will be assigned a new registration number that will serve as their unique ID for all future purposes.

  6. Multiple Opportunities for Exam Attempts: Candidates are allowed to attempt the CET examination as many times as they wish, with no restriction on the number of opportunities available to sit for the test.

Expected Participation and Regional Inclusion

Haryana CET 2025 is expected to see participation from around 14 lakh candidates, including those from other states. However, candidates from outside Haryana will not be eligible for reservation benefits. Despite this, the opportunity to participate in the exam is open to a wider group of candidates, which will lead to increased competition.

Haryana CET: A Crucial Step for Group C and D Jobs

The Haryana CET is a critical exam for the recruitment of Group C and Group D government jobs in the state. After the introduction of the CET format, only one CET exam was conducted in 2022. Now, after a gap of three years, the CET exam will be held again in 2025, offering another opportunity for candidates seeking government jobs in Haryana.

This exam is particularly important for candidates aspiring for positions in departments such as Haryana Police, Jail Department, Home Guard, and other Group C and D vacancies. The exam ensures a streamlined and efficient selection process, making it easier for candidates to get recruited into government jobs without the hassle of multiple exams for different departments.

The opening of the Haryana CET 2025 registration portal marks an important step for job seekers in Haryana. With a wide array of opportunities and improvements in the selection process, the CET exam is becoming a pivotal event in the state’s recruitment system. Candidates must stay vigilant about the registration deadline and ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria for a smooth application process.

For candidates looking to secure government jobs in Haryana, this exam offers a critical opportunity. The Haryana Staff Selection Commission’s implementation of changes such as increased shortlisting, no social-economic bonus points, and the three-year score validity will enhance the recruitment process and provide greater transparency and fairness.
