KKN Gurugram Desk | The CUET UG 2025  has undergone a significant change just after it began, with the Testing Agency (NTA) announcing a revision in the Accountancy paper. This modification comes as a part of an effort to ensure fairness in the examination process, especially for candidates appeared for the Accountancy paper between 13th and 16th May 2025. In an unprecedented move, NTA has allowed these candidates to either continue with their existing paper or retake the exam with the revised pattern. This decision has caught the attention of many and educational experts, especially with the NTA providing clear guidelines about the available options.

NTA Changes the CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper Pattern

In a surprising decision, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the Accountancy paper pattern for CUET UG 2025 after the exam had already commenced. This change was prompted by the need to align the questions more closely with the notified syllabus. As a result, candidates who sat for the Accountancy paper between 13th and 16th May 2025 now have the choice to either continue with their exam as it is or reappear for the exam following the new pattern. The modification is meant to ensure that all students have a fair chance, especially those who have already faced the original exam format.

The decision to revise the exam pattern midway is seen as an effort by the NTA to ensure that the changes made in the syllabus are duly reflected in the exam format. It also highlights the agency’s commitment to fairness and its adaptability in addressing concerns during an ongoing examination.

Revised Exam Pattern for CUET UG 2025 Accountancy Paper

As per the revised Accountancy paper format, students will now have the option to select questions related to Unit 5 or choose optional questions for Unit 5. The rest of the paper will continue to cover topics from Units 1 to 4, as per the notified syllabus. This change, effective from 22nd May 2025, is set to be implemented from this date onward for future candidates appearing for the Accountancy exam. This revision reflects the desire to better align the exam pattern with the new syllabus and ensure that it is in sync with the overall academic framework.

The change comes at a critical time when the exam is ongoing, creating a wave of reactions among students. Many candidates who had previously appeared for the Accountancy exam are now wondering whether to continue with their earlier performance or retake the paper under the new conditions.

Students Given a Second Chance

The most significant aspect of this change is that NTA has offered students a second chance to appear for the Accountancy exam under the revised pattern. This provision is specifically for those who have already attempted the paper between 13th and 16th May 2025. Students now have the flexibility to either continue with their previous attempt or retake the exam under the updated rules.

This decision has been welcomed by many students who felt that the initial paper might not have been in line with the revised syllabus. Offering them the option to retake the exam ensures fairness and allows students to compete on equal terms. The NTA has made it clear that this option will be available through their official website, and students will need to follow the instructions provided there.
