CBSE 12th Result 2025: 88.39% students passed, girls outdo boys again

KKN Gurugram Desk |  The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Class 12 examination results for the year 2025 on May 13. Students can access their results through the official websites: cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in. Additionally, results are available via DigiLocker and the UMANG app for added convenience.

 Key Highlights of CBSE Class 12 Result 2025

  • Overall Pass Percentage: 88.39%

  • Total Students Appeared: Approximately 16.92 lakh

  • Total Students Passed: Around 14.96 lakh

  • Girls’ Pass Percentage: 91.64%

  • Boys’ Pass Percentage: 85.70%

  • Transgender Students’ Pass Percentage: 100%

The pass percentage has shown an improvement compared to previous years, indicating better overall performance by students.

 How to Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2025 Online

Students can follow these steps to access their results:

  1. Visit Official Websites:

  2. Enter Required Details:

    • Roll Number

    • School Number

    • Admit Card ID

    • Date of Birth

  3. Submit Information: Click on the ‘Submit’ button to view your result.

  4. Download and Print: Save a copy of your result for future reference.

 Alternative Methods to Access Results

1. DigiLocker:

  • Visit digiLocker.gov.in or use the DigiLocker app.

  • Log in using your registered mobile number.

  • Access your digital marksheet and certificates.

2. UMANG App:

  • Download the UMANG app from the Play Store or App Store.

  • Navigate to the ‘Education’ section and select ‘CBSE’.

  • Enter your credentials to view and download your result.

3. SMS Service:

  • Type: cbse12 <Roll Number>

  • Send to: 7738299899

  • Receive your result via SMS.

 Comparative Analysis with Previous Years

  • 2024:

    • Overall Pass Percentage: 87.98%

    • Girls: 91.52%

    • Boys: 85.122023:

    • Overall Pass Percentage: 87.33%

    • Girls: 90.68%

    • Boys: 84.67%

The consistent higher performance of girls over boys continues in 2025, with a notable gap of 5.94%.

While specific regional data for 2025 is yet to be released, historically, regions like Trivandrum, Vijayawada, and Chennai have showcased exemplary performance in CBSE examinations.
