The recruitment process, which aims to fill 15,000 Home Guard positions across Bihar, has now entered its crucial physical evaluation phase.
Today marks the start of district-wise PET in Patna, Buxar, Kaimur, Nawada, and Supaul, with different schedules and venue arrangements set by local authorities.
The ongoing recruitment is part of a statewide campaign to strengthen Bihar’s home security infrastructure. The Bihar Home Guard Department has received lakhs of applications from eligible candidates for 15,000 vacancies. The selection process includes:

The selection for Home Guard posts in Bihar is based on:
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Primary round where candidates must complete:
1.6 km run
Long jump
High jump
Medical Examination – Ensuring fitness standards
Document Verification – Including educational qualifications, ID proofs, and caste certificates
Merit List – Final selection based on performance and reservation policies
Candidates must carry the following:
Printed Admit Card
Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.)
Passport-size photographs
Original documents for verification
Medical fitness certificate (optional but recommended)
Candidates are also advised to carry water bottles, energy drinks, and avoid wearing any metallic items during testing.
District administrations have ensured the deployment of:
