The Jharkhand government has sanctioned the recruitment of 1,373 secondary teacher positions in 510 Plus Two schools across the state. This initiative is part of the Jharkhand government’s effort to improve the quality of education and offer specialized learning opportunities to students. Following the approval from the School Education and Literacy Department, the JSSC has started the recruitment process. The Jharkhand Trained Secondary Teachers Combined Competitive Examination-2025 will be conducted for selecting eligible candidates.

The online application window for the recruitment will open on June 18, 2025, and will close on July 17, 2025. Candidates will also be able to pay the exam fee and upload their photographs and signatures until July 19, 2025.

New Subjects and Teaching Positions: A First for Jharkhand

One of the most exciting aspects of this recruitment drive is the inclusion of modern, futuristic subjects such as Artificial Intelligence, Coding, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Computer Science, and Applied English. These subjects will be taught at the Plus Two level, reflecting the state’s commitment to integrating contemporary fields into the curriculum.

For the first time, teachers will be appointed to teach these subjects in the state-run high schools. These teachers will be paid a salary on Level 6 of the pay scale, with a salary range between ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 per month. This recruitment drive marks a turning point in the state’s educational landscape, aligning with the need for technical expertise in the teaching workforce.

Eligibility Criteria for JSSC Bharti 2025

To apply for the JSSC Teacher Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a Postgraduate Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks and must have a B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) degree.

  • Age Limit:
The age limit will be determined according to government norms, with relaxation for reserved category candidates.

  • Examination Format:
The Jharkhand Trained Secondary Teachers Combined Competitive Examination will be conducted in two papers:

    • Paper 1: This will cover undergraduate level questions and will include General Knowledge (including basic computer knowledge) and Hindi & English Language.

    • Paper 2: This paper will consist of subject-specific questions at the postgraduate level for the subject the candidate is applying for.

Each question in Paper 1 will be worth 1 mark, and each question in Paper 2 will be worth 2 marks. Importantly, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The paper will be objective and multiple-choice in nature.

How the JSSC Teacher Exam Will Work

  • Paper 1 (Qualifying Exam):
Paper 1 will be a qualifying exam, and candidates must score at least 33% marks to move to the second paper. The subjects covered in Paper 1 include General Knowledge, Computer Operations, and Hindi & English Language.

  • Paper 2 (Main Exam):

The results from Paper 2 will determine the final rankings, and a merit list will be created based on the marks obtained in this paper.

Both papers will be conducted in two shifts on the same day. The first paper will test undergraduate-level knowledge, while the second paper will evaluate the candidate’s proficiency at the postgraduate level in their chosen subject.

Inclusion of Tribal, Regional Language Teachers, and Special Education

In addition to the introduction of new subjects, this recruitment drive also aims to fill vacancies for teachers specializing in tribal and regional languages. This step is crucial in ensuring that teachers are available to cater to the linguistic diversity of the state. Moreover, for the first time, Special Education Teachers for children with disabilities will also be recruited, further enhancing the inclusivity of the education system.
