KKN Gurugram Desk | In a significant development, the Delhi Police have apprehended 38 Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in various parts of the capital. This operation is part of an intensified crackdown on unauthorized immigrants in the city. The detainees, including women and children, had previously attempted to settle in Nuh, Haryana, and Bihar before moving to Delhi.

Background: Migration Patterns

The arrested individuals initially tried to establish themselves in Nuh, Haryana, and later in Bihar. However, due to challenges in securing livelihoods and integrating into local communities, they relocated to Delhi. In the capital, they found employment in factories and settled in unauthorized colonies.

Details of the Operation

The North West District of Delhi Police conducted coordinated raids across multiple locations, leading to the detention of these illegal immigrants. The operation was part of a broader initiative to identify and deport unauthorized foreign nationals residing in the city without valid documentation.

Previous Arrests and Ongoing Efforts

This recent operation follows a series of similar actions by the Delhi Police. On May 23, a family of nine Bangladeshi nationals was apprehended in Bharat Nagar, northwest Delhi. The family had been living without valid documentation in Wazirpur JJ Colony. Investigations revealed they had entered India illegally via the Cooch Behar border and had previously worked in Haryana’s Mewat region before fleeing to Delhi to avoid arrest.

In another instance, on May 25, Delhi Police detained four Bangladeshi nationals from the Narela area. These individuals had entered India illegally during childhood along with their parents, who later returned to Bangladesh. The men had been living in India without legal authorization, moving across various cities in search of work while avoiding detection.

Legal Proceedings and Deportation

All detained individuals are being processed through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for deportation. The Delhi Police have reiterated their commitment to identifying and deporting illegal immigrants to maintain internal security and uphold immigration laws.

The Delhi Police’s recent actions underscore the ongoing efforts to address illegal immigration in the capital. The apprehension of 38 Bangladeshi nationals highlights the challenges posed by unauthorized migration and the importance of coordinated law enforcement operations to uphold the rule of law.
