KKN Gurugram Desk |  In a decisive address during an all-party Indian delegation’s visit to Kuwait, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi called for Pakistan to be reinstated on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list. Owaisi accused Pakistan of misusing international funds, including a recent $2 billion IMF loan, to finance terrorist activities against India.

Highlighting Pakistan’s Alleged Financial Misconduct

Owaisi emphasized that Pakistan’s financial practices, particularly through hawala networks and money laundering, are facilitating anti-India terrorist operations. He expressed concern that the IMF’s $2 billion loan could be diverted by Pakistan’s military establishment to support such activities. “Pakistan must be brought back to the FATF grey list to ensure stringent scrutiny of its financial transactions,” Owaisi stated.

Critique of Pakistan’s Religious Justifications

Addressing the Indian diaspora in Kuwait, Owaisi criticized Pakistan’s use of religious narratives to justify its actions. He pointed out that India has a larger Muslim population than Pakistan and stated, “Indian Muslims are more sincere than them.” He urged the international community not to be swayed by Pakistan’s portrayal of itself as a representative of the Muslim world.

Condemnation of Propaganda and Misinformation

Owaisi also took aim at Pakistan’s dissemination of misleading information, referencing a 2019 Chinese military drill photo presented by Pakistan’s army chief to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as evidence of military prowess. He labeled such actions as “propaganda” and questioned Pakistan’s credibility in international affairs.

Call for International Accountability

The AIMIM leader urged global partners to hold Pakistan accountable for its actions. He highlighted India’s previous notifications to the United Nations regarding the activities of The Resistance Front (TRF), a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, and criticized Pakistan’s attempts to downplay the group’s involvement in terrorist attacks, including the Pahalgam incident.

India’s Diplomatic Offensive

Owaisi’s statements are part of a broader diplomatic initiative by India, known as “Operation Sindoor,” aimed at exposing Pakistan’s alleged support for terrorism on international platforms. The all-party delegation, comprising members from various political backgrounds, is visiting countries like Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria to garner support for India’s stance against cross-border terrorism.

As tensions between India and Pakistan persist, Owaisi’s remarks underscore India’s commitment to combating terrorism and seeking international cooperation to ensure regional stability. The call for Pakistan’s return to the FATF grey list reflects ongoing concerns about the country’s financial practices and their implications for global security
